Fibrax’s 2Face cleats will be on display at the Cycle Show in September (Fibrax)
Fibrax have unveiled a ‘revolutionary’ two-sided cleat design that can be rotated to prolong life.
The firm, who specialize in brake pads and
cables, call the cleats 2Face. They are compatible with Look Keo pedals and
because they can be rotated, are said to last twice as long as traditional
designs. All you do is unscrew the mounting bolts, rotate
the connecting plate and reassemble.
“It is one of
the constant complaints of cyclists that they have to replace cleats on a
regular basis,” said designer Dave Savage. “I wanted to come up with a
way to extend their life without compromising on safety or comfort. The result
was 2Face cleats.”
They will be available from October 2012
and cost £17.99. The firm will be displaying the cleats before then at next
month’s Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC.
The show, which takes place from 27-30 September, is in its second year in at the NEC and features exhibitors from the likes of Specialized, Mavic, Pinarello and Trek.
Entry to the show normally costs £16 on the door or £13 advance, but BikeRadar readers can get admission for the exclusive price of £11 using the code BRD at the checkout.
