The Gusset Nitro flat pedals are 95mm wide, just 15mm deep and weigh 382g a pair. There are 20 screw-in pins per pedal and each pin has a flange to prevent it ripping out in the case of a rock strike – which so far has worked brilliantly.
The profile is slightly concave, biased toward the front of the machined 6061 aluminium platform, and there’s plenty of open space for mud to push through. We did find them a little narrow for our test pilot with (UK) size 11 feet – smaller-footed riders should be fine. The chromoly axle spins smoothly in sealed bearings, with no play or resistance.
