Race Face’s Indy shorts are made from a three-way stretch nylon with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to help them stand up to the grim British weather.
Comfort, fit and cut are extremely good thanks to the double Velcro waist adjusters that sit inside the fleece-lined waistband. There’s a double-popper closure and belt loops for extra security too.
We found the two hip pockets useful off the bike but would prefer to see the only zippered pocket moved up higher to avoid movement when it’s fully loaded.
Our only real gripe with them occurred when wearing them with kneepads. Although the Indys sit perfectly over the top, we found that the bottom of the shorts snagged constantly on the pads, causing the material to lose its elasticity and start to permanently deform around the hem.
